You know what's funny about Death Note? The part that's set in 2009, where Mello's threatening the president of the U.S., the president is a middle-aged white man named David Hoope. This is a completely plausible image for a U.S. president - except, 2009 ended up being a middle-aged black guy named Barack Obama. So much for that one.

rereading Death Note after so long is really nice. I got to miss Light's evil eyes, grow to FUCKING LOATHE HIM LIKE NO OTHER, be on the verge of tears at L's death, and cheer like a crazy person when Near shows up and starts really pissing Light off ALL OVER AGAIN.

Man, the last few chapters before L's death when Light had his memory back, were so incredibly painful to read. L knew something was not right, he knew Light had to be kira. If Remu didn't suck so badly, then I'm sure it wouldn't have taken him much longer to consider that 13 days rule to be a fake. It kills me that he wasn't even able to understand everything before he died, it was just "I was right" and confusion. ;_; YOU AVENGE HIS ASS NEAR. I'm going to be up all night neglecting my Shakespeare paper to reread this shit. I can't concentrate on anything else fjdksjhfskfh

I love Near. He is my favorite. I love L too, but for some reason.. I like Near more. HE'S ADORABLE.
